- A highly robust synthetic material located in the guidance track of the tilting brackets, ensures they run smoothly and maintenance free even under the most extreme conditions. The tilt guide segment runs without lubrication and is insensitive to dust.

It is also possible to use a grooving cutter/dado with your Format-4 sliding table saw. Especially developed by Format-4, the cutter simply melts wood away. Massive in size and performance enabling cuts from ¼”–¾” (6.3–19.5 mm).

For operation of the scoring unit there are two versions available: Classic or Automatic.

Classic: The height and lateral setting of the scoring blade is adjusted manually from the top of the saw unit table.

Automatic: Electric scoring sawblade height-adjustment is done easily with a switch.  When the scoring unit is switched on, the scoring blade rises to its pre-set position automatically. When the main blade is switched off, the scoring blade automatically sinks back under the table. This is first class comfort!

With the rotary adjustment switches on the operating panel you can adjust the sawblade height and angle in fast or creep speed with only a flick of the wrist! You can read the adjustment values easily and clearly from the red LED display. That’s a valuable standard feature and guarantees maximum user friendliness. The scoring blade height is also adjustable with the height adjustment switch.

With the “Digi-Drive” package you simply type in the ­required sawblade height and angle, press start and watch the sawblade adjust automatically. Naturally, settings can also be stored for future reference. When adjusting the tilt, the sawblade will remain at the ­pre-set height (automatic height compensation).

8 bearings ensure the integrated outrigger table with supporting arm has a smooth operation even with the maximum loading capacity. The workpiece roller at the end of the outrigger table guarantees easy loading of workpieces.

The 126” (3200 mm) long telescopic crosscut fence can be effortlessly adjusted from 90° to 45°. A miter scale on the outrigger table allows for accurate adjustments.

On request, we’ll equip your Format-4 with the digital telescopic fence. Below, you see the cleverly integrated electronic digital scale with values correct to 4/1000” (0.1 mm). Additional functions, for example the setting of successive measurements, make your daily working life easier.
The setting to a tenth of a millimeter (4/1000”) simplifies fine adjustment, optionally at the digitized telescopic fence or on the standard telescopic fence.

The crosscut fence is 43” (1100 mm) for crosscuts between +45° and –45°. The fence can be attached to the sliding table with out the use of tools. The positive stop provides you with the exact 90° position.

The single handed adjustment system ensures quick and accurate setting of the rip fence. The standard rip capacity is 31” (800 mm) or an optional 49” (1250 mm). The easy to read rip scale is perfectly integrated into the saw table. The aluminum rip fence extrusion can be slid backwards to optimize the feed of workpieces.

When working with narrow and thin cuts of wood with the saw blade tilted, the rip fence can be put in its lying position to improve operator comfort and avoid collision with the saw blade.
The rip fence can also be tilted underneath the table.

The integration of the electronic digital display on the rip fence allows for the reading of the cutting width to four thousandth of an inch. The display may be rotated up to 90° to suit the working position. Additional features like the adjustment of progressive measurements make your daily working life easier.
